Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, Uganda's Minister of Health, is a Senior Consultant Pediatrician and Public Health expert. She holds an MBChB, MMED (Pediatrics), a Master’s in Public Health, and a Diploma in Health System Strengthening.
Margaret Muhanga Mugisa is the MP for Fort Portal North Division and Minister of State for Health (Primary Health Care). She holds degrees in Social Sciences, Journalism, Development Studies, and Diplomacy. A former journalist, she advocates for gender equality and development.
Hon. Anifa Kawooya Bangirana is the State Minister for Health in Charge of General Duties. She has been involved in initiatives like Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) to combat malaria in high-burden regions. Kawooya has also spoken out about the challenges the government faces in improving healthcare, including balancing medical staff salaries and upgrading medical facilities.
Diana Kanzira Atwine, a Ugandan medical doctor, is the Permanent Secretary of the Uganda Ministry of Health. Appointed by President Yoweri Museveni on November 4, 2016, she holds an MBChB and MMed, serving as a key civil servant in health administration.
Dr. Henry Gatyanga Mwebesa, with 31 years of experience in the health sector, has advanced through all ranks in Uganda's Ministry of Health. He currently serves as Director General Health Services, having started as a Medical Practitioner in a General Hospital.
Kenneth Akiiri heads the Department of Finance and Administration at Uganda's Ministry of Health. With 16 years in public service, he manages planning, budgeting, and policy enforcement. Akiiri holds advanced degrees in Public Administration, Human Resource Management, and Monitoring and Evaluation.
Dr. Daniel J. Kyabayinze, a Medical Doctor and Epidemiologist, leads Uganda’s Directorate of Public Health and is the National COVID-19 Vaccination Commander. With 20 years of experience, he focuses on Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases, contributing to over 50 scientific publications and international treaty negotiations.
Richard, a Public Health Specialist, leads the Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Health Communication at Uganda's Ministry of Health. He is responsible for driving the country's Health Promotion and Disease Prevention agenda, focusing on improving public health outcomes.
Dr. Ronald Miria Ocaatre is Uganda’s Assistant Commissioner for Health Promotion and Strategic Health Communication. He leads initiatives to recruit health extension workers, improve household health services, and works with development partners to address logistical challenges, promoting immunization, family planning, and nutrition across communities.
